Find the cause, not just the code
Emissions faults can have more than one cause.
A DPF or SCR code does not always mean the expensive component named in the fault is bad. Exhaust temperature and pressure sensors, DEF quality and delivery, NOx sensors, EGR operation, engine performance and the vehicle's duty cycle can all affect the aftertreatment system. We use diagnostic data and testing to determine what is actually preventing the system from operating correctly.
DEF & SCR faults
DEF warnings and SCR efficiency faults can involve fluid quality, pumps, heaters, injectors, wiring, NOx sensors or catalyst performance. Testing the system helps avoid replacing expensive parts unnecessarily.
EGR system diagnosis
Sticking valves, cooler problems, flow faults and related sensor issues can cause poor drivability, warning lights and aftertreatment problems. We diagnose the EGR system as part of the complete engine and emissions strategy.
Derate & countdown warnings
When an emissions fault starts a speed limitation, restart countdown or power derate, the priority is finding the fault that triggered it and completing the correct repair and verification procedure.
Sensors, wiring & controls
NOx, exhaust temperature and differential-pressure sensors operate in a severe environment. We test sensor plausibility, wiring and control inputs rather than assuming every emissions code requires an aftertreatment assembly.
Fleet emissions problems
Short trips, extended idling and repeated low-load operation can be hard on modern diesel aftertreatment systems. For fleets, we can diagnose recurring faults and look at operating patterns that may be contributing to repeat visits.
